This recipe adds garlic and butter to boiled green beans making this dish more flavorful than just plain green beans. If you love green beans you may also like Green Beans Almondine or even Bacon Wrapped Green Bean Bundles.

Karlynn’s Recipe Notes
- Skill Level: This is an easy recipe.
- Total Time: This takes, at most, 10 minutes to complete.
- Tools Needed: For this recipe, you’ll need a large pot, a colander and some tongs.

What You’ll Need for Ingredients
Green Beans: You can do this with French style green beans or standard but I prefer the French style that you can get from Costco personally.
Salt: Definitely needed and I recommend salting the water when boiling the beans as it helps add flavor to them while they boil. My rule of thumb is to use a tablespoon of coarse salt when boiling.
Butter: I use salted butter pretty much exclusively but if you want less salt, you can use unsalted.
Garlic Powder: This gives them a little flavor kick that I think takes this recipe right where it needs to be taste wise.

How to Make Boiled Green Beans
Boiling green beans keeps the flavor and crunchiness of the beans. For the exact directions and ingredients see the recipe at the bottom of the post
- Wash the green beans under cool, running water.
- Add the water and salt to a large stock pot and bring to a boil.
- Add the green beans and boil for 4 to 6 minutes until tender firm.
- Drain the beans in a colander. Leave the beans draining in the colander and return the stockpot to the stove.
- In the bottom of the stockpot add in the butter and garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes over medium-high heat.
- Remove from the stove and add the green beans to the garlic butter mixture and swirl around the pot to coat the beans with the butter mixture.
- Season with salt and pepper and serve.

How to Store Boiled Green Beans
These green beans can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Place the beans in a re-sealable airtight container until ready to eat. Warm them in the microwave or eat them cold whichever you prefer.
Hopefully you and the family enjoy these and it gives them a nice little kick flavor wise that makes them a staple on your dinner table like it does on mine!
Happy Cooking!

Karlynn
