What You’ll Need for Ingredients

Pink Hot Chocolate: This is what gives the dip its signature flavor and pretty color! For this recipe, I used Gourmet Village, but for my American Friends, McSteven’s Pink Hot Chocolate is available on Amazon. Karlynn’s Tip: If you can’t find any pink hot chocolate, use white hot chocolate and add a few drops of red or pink food coloring for the same look!

Packets of unicorn-themed rose hot chocolate, strawberries, whipped topping, cookies, a box of tartlets, and a pink heart-patterned napkin are arranged on a white surface with small pink heart decorations.

Whipped Topping: Whipped topping creates that light, fluffy texture that makes this dip so irresistible. Classic Cool Whip works perfectly, but you can use any variety you like.

How To Make Pink Hot Chocolate Valentine’s Dessert Dip

This is a quick overview of the recipe. The full list of ingredients & complete step-by-step instructions are in the recipe card below.

  1. Scoop the whipped topping into a medium bowl. Break up any small lumps in the hot chocolate mixes.
  2. Pour in 2-3 packages of pink hot chocolate mix.
  3. Stir until combined, ensuring there are no lumps. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  4. Serve in a bowl with the accompaniments of your choice.

Karlynn’s Tips and Tricks for the Perfect Pink Hot Chocolate Valentine’s Dessert Dip

  • Adjust the Sweetness: This recipe uses 3 packets of pink hot chocolate, but you can easily adjust to your taste! Try starting with 2 or 2½ packets, then add more in ½-packet increments to avoid making it too sweet. Using 3 packets creates a thicker, marshmallow-like texture, while using less will give you a lighter, fluffier dip.
  • Make It Festive: A cute serving dish (like a heart-shaped bowl) instantly elevates this dessert, especially for Valentine’s Day! Add fun extras like marshmallow hearts, lollipops, or heart-shaped candies to make it feel extra special. I grabbed mine at the local dollar store!
  • Get Creative with Dippers: While cookies and strawberries are classic, there are so many fun options to try. Serve your dip with Strawberry Jam Tartlets, fruit cake, Christie’s Fruit Creme Cookies, or pink wafer cookies for a beautifully themed spread!

Storage Instructions

This dessert dip is best enjoyed fresh, but you can absolutely save leftovers for later!

Refrigerator: Store your dip in an airtight container or tightly covered bowl in the fridge for 2-3 days. Give it a quick stir before serving, as it may firm up slightly.

Freezer: Freezing isn’t recommended here, as the whipped topping’s texture can change and become watery once thawed!
