Karlynn’s Recipe Notes

  • Skill Level: This a very easy recipe.
  • Total Time: It will take you just 10 minutes to make this decadent dip.
  • Variations: You can try this with regular milk or strawberry-flavoured milk if you prefer, but do make sure that it is dairy milk. You can try using different puddings as well, but chocolate will work best with the flavour of the Kahlua.
  • Tools Needed: For this recipe, you’ll need a Dollar Tree snack set, a stand mixer or medium mixing bowl and hand mixer, a spoon or spatula, and some plastic wrap.

What You’ll Need For Ingredients

Cream Cheese: Full fat and no flavouring is what you’re looking for to add creaminess and volume to this dip. This is the ingredient that makes the dip reminiscent of cheesecake.

Instant Pudding: The recipe calls for chocolate pudding in particular since chocolate and coffee are amazing together. You could try vanilla or butterscotch if you prefer. Just make sure you’re using instant pudding mix and not the kind that needs to be cooked.

Kahlua: This coffee-flavoured liqueur takes this dip from delicious to magnificent. If you would prefer to avoid the alcohol content, there are non-alcoholic coffee creamers or syrups available. You can even make your own.

Toppings: Any whipped cream or whipped topping will work for garnishing this dip. Chocolate covered coffee beans are a great addition if you can find them.

How To Make Kahlua Cheesecake Dip

This is a brief overview of the recipe. The full list of ingredients and step-by-step instructions are in the recipe card below.

  1. Beat cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl until it is smooth and creamy. Slowly beat in chocolate milk until fully incorporated.
  2. Sprinkle in the instant pudding and mix on medium speed until the granules are fully dissolved.
  3. Slowly pour in the Kahlua, beating on low speed until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Cover in plastic wrap and refrigerate until thickened and chilled.
  5. Garnish and serve with cookies or fruit for dipping.

Karlynn’s Tips and Tricks for Making Kahlua Cheesecake Dip

Dairy Milk Only: Do not use plant-based milk in this recipe. You need the dairy to react with the Jell-o pudding. These pudding mixes are designed to bond with the fats and proteins that are not present in plant-based milks. And be sure to use full fat milk since you’re replacing so much of the milk with alcohol. If you don’t do this, the dip will not set properly.

What To Dip: The options for what to dip into this delicious dessert are almost endless. Try anything from basic arrowroot biscuits to rich shortbread cookies. Simple sugar cookies or Oreos would work too. If you’d rather provide a lighter option, try a plate of cut up fruit like strawberries, bananas, and watermelon. Just make sure that whatever you’re using to scoop up the dip is sturdy enough not to crumble.

Storage Instructions

Cover the dip in plastic wrap to prevent it from forming a skin, and store in the fridge for 2-3 days.
