Karlynn’s Recipe Notes

  • Skill Level: This is an easy recipe that you can use to teach your kids how to operate an air fryer.
  • Total Time: Assembling these takes no time at all, and even though you’re only going to put 4 cookies in the air fryer at once, getting the whole batch done will take only about 15 minutes.
  • Variations: Try this recipe with a different type of cookie. Track down some Peanut Butter Oreos or Mint Oreos. If you want more chocolate, try Fudgeos instead. Why not make some Whipped Cream Cheese or Chocolate Sauce to dip these cookies in? Or drizzle some Caramel Syrup over them before you sprinkle on the icing sugar.
  • Tools Needed: The most important tool for this recipe is an air fryer. Some tongs Make sure they aren’t metal so they don’t scratch the inside of your air fryer) will be helpful for getting the Oreos out of the hot air fryer, and you’ll need a knife to cut the dough into squares. Basket liners for your air fryer will make clean up even easier.

What You’ll Need For Ingredients

Oreos: 8 Oreo cookies (regular, double-stuffed, flavored, etc.)

Pillsbury Crescent Rolls: One package.

Icing Sugar (also known as powdered sugar) for dusting.

How To Make Air Fryer Oreos

This is a brief overview of the recipe. The full list of ingredients and step-by-step instructions are in the recipe card below.

  1. Open the can of crescent rolls and lay it out flat in a rectangle. Cut the rectangle into 8 squares. Put an Oreo cookie in the center of each square.
  2. Without stretching the dough, gather each square of dough around its cookie and pinch together so that the cookie is fully enclosed.
  3. Set air fryer to 325F, preheat if necessary, and arrange 4 wrapped Oreos (seam of the dough facing down) in the fryer basket.
  4. Fry for 5-6 minutes, until golden brown, and then remove and dust with icing sugar. Repeat the process with the other 4 Oreos.

Karlynn’s Tips and Tricks for Making Air Fryer Oreos

Eat Warm: Eat this fresh and warm, while they’re still crispy. Just give them a couple minutes to cool off before you take a bite so you don’t burn your mouth. If they cool off too much, you can always pop them back in the air fryer for a minute or two.

More Ideas: Why not try serving these Oreos warm with a bowl of ice cream? If you like peanut butter with Oreos, spread a bit on the cookies before wrapping them up in the dough. Don’t stop at Oreo cookie varieties either; Try Pirate cookies or other sandwich cookies.

Toppings: If icing sugar is a bit sweet for you, try a tiny dusting of cocoa powder or cinnamon instead. Just remember, cocoa powder is quite bitter so don’t put too much. Why not make a Peanut Butter Cup Ganache to dip your air fryer Oreos in?

Storage Instructions

Your mouth, obviously. Really though, if you try to store these in a fridge or freezer they’ll get soggy and lose their crispiness. Even at room temperature, they’ll lose their crunch, so eat them as soon as possible.

Ingredients

  • 8 Oreo cookies
  • 1 container Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
  • 2 Tablespoons Powdered sugar, for garnish

Instructions

  • Open up the roll of crescent dough and carefully spread it out. Press on the perforated lines to create one big rectangle.
  • Cut the rectangle into 8 squares by making one long cut in half the long side, and 3 small vertical cuts dividing it into 8 even squares.
  • Add one Oreo cookie to the center of one square and bring up four corners gently to the center of the cookie and pinch dough together and pinch the rest of the dough together to cover the cookie completely. Try to not stretch the dough while doing this as a thin spot may break. Repeat will 7 more squares.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 325°F if needed.
  • Add 4 prepared Oreo's seam side down in the air fryer basket ensuring they are evenly spaced apart. Cook for about 5-6 minutes until they are nice and golden brown.
  • Remove the Oreo's from the air fryer and lightly dust them with powdered sugar on top.
  • Let cool for a few minutes, then enjoy!
