Camping recipes should – in my books at least- be simple, fast and easy above all else. Camping is about spending time with my family, enjoying time with them whether it’s on the beach or fishing at the lake. I have no interest in spending my entire weekend at the lake cooking elaborate meals, as it is, I swear cooking takes up more time than I want! This Cheater Skillet Monkey Bread is perfect!

I have also mentioned before that camping brings out the cheater in me; food items that never set foot in my kitchen make an appearance at the trailer.

This food needed in this monkey bread recipe is no exception. All you need is a container of Pillsbury Grand Cinnamon Rolls, a handful of raisins and a well seasoned cast iron skillet.

Chop up the cinnamon buns into small pieces, lay them in the skillet and sprinkle the raisins between.

Bake in either your trailer oven or BBQ at 350 degrees F, or if you have mad campfire cooking skills you can cover it with tinfoil and attempt it over the coals. The beauty to this recipe having only one layer of dough is that the “bits” cook up quickly, evenly and there’s no raw dough anywhere.

When the dough has risen and joined together and is perfectly browned, it’s ready! Take the icing that comes in the pack and drizzle it over the hot monkey bread.

Serve for a fabulous warm breakfast!

Since I am taking part in the Life Made Delicious Blogger Program, I am on the Life Made Delicious site a lot. Part of my “job” is to find delicious recipes off of the website and to share them with you, my readers! (It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it! I found a couple of recipes off the site to share with you all and they fit the bill of simple and easy for camping.

First,  a double BBQ Bacon Wrapped Grilled Chicken Recipe. You can make the sauce before you go camping and then assemble when you are ready to make it. Plus, it’s wrapped in bacon. Oh my.

Then to match your BBQ entrée, how about some Grilled Southwest corn?

Speaking of camping and weekends, how was yours? May I have a little grump moment here? Just a wee one?

Enough. Rain. Already. Just stop with the rain!

Every weekend has been rainy weather since the middle of June. We are waterlogged, my garden is not thriving and camping in the rain is not all it’s cracked up to be. We are lucky that we have a trailer, but we also camp with my sister, sometimes with my nephew as well, plus us four? Yikes. Crowded.

I’m hoping that the weekends start smartening up! I’d like some sunshine please!

Did anyone get up to anything fabulously exciting? Are you vacationing somewhere sunny that I should be jealous of?

Have a fabulous week everyone! Thanks for reading!

Love,

Karlynn
