In truth, I have tried many times over the past few years to find a house cleaner that I am happy with. We’ve tried all the big brands that first pop into your head and to be honest I’ve always been disappointed. Mike and I work at home, which can be the worst when it comes down to cleaning your house. While most people don’t even have to think twice about going to a clean workplace, we are stuck with whatever we have time to clean, and with my cookbook taking up a lot of my time over the past year, cleaning is always the last thing that we get around to doing.

When I heard about the new company in Edmonton, Mad Maids, I thought eh, let’s give it another try. The other companies had totally let me down, I’d find taps that weren’t clean, (with the company that probably popped into your head first when I said cleaning company, they left an entire shower dirty one time) and of course, they’d send the person back to clean again. Which means that once again, I had someone in my workspace cleaning while I was trying to get work done. Imagine that you’re at your office desk and someone is in there running the vacuum while you are trying to work. Same thing. So I got tired of the other companies always having to come back to fix what should have been done the first time around and gave up.

I have now had Mad Maids in three times and have been nothing but impressed with how everything was handled. The most impressive part is how they are willing to work with you so that you get the best experience possible. We actually have switched to another team of theirs from the ones that cleaned our house first so that the current team best met our needs for the cleaning.

Clean taps make me happy.

Now, while the first cleaning was free to try them out, I am paying for the service now. So this review is completely my real thoughts on the company. In fact, they are coming again this Friday and I am happy enough with their service that I have booked them on a bi-weekly clean now, every second Friday. It’s just enough that I can keep up with the house between visits, but then every two weeks I get a nice deep clean. The bed linens are changed, a little bit of tidying done, the bathrooms are so sparkling clean and oh, my kitchen!! It’s so clean every two weeks! It makes me seriously happy and has taken a huge weight off of me knowing that it’s getting done and that if I get too swamped, it’s ok. We won’t live in a hovel lol!

Now, YOU get a chance to try them out! One reader will win a house cleaning of their own house and for everyone else, you get a special code from me to get $20 off any house cleaning. When you book (and oh, I love how everything is online!) use the code KMP20 to get the discount. It will be valid until April 15, 2016.

Good luck everyone! This contest is only open to Edmonton residents!

Love,
