We Bought an Abandoned Homestead

Hey everyone! So something crazy happened in our lives… we bought an abandoned farm with 160 acres of land west of Edmonton towards the Rocky Mountains.

Yep, you heard it right.

Call it a midlife crisis if you will but we knew we’d never get away without sharing the experience with you all, so here’s the beginning of what we call Magpie Farm.

We’ve already seen lots of wildlife on the property, such as this young bull moose which was wandering around at night near one of our trail cams.

We’ve had some daylight sightings in the same area of this cow moose as well.

We’ve had numerous white tailed deer spotted on various trail cams throughout the 160 acres of land making it a great place for wildlife sightings!

For you bird lovers out there, we were super excited to find out we have the elusive Purple Martin on the property too! I can’t believe what a weird sounding bird they are! Their clicking noise is so interesting and fun to listen to.

There’s plenty more to see and we’ll be sharing videos of everything on our YouTube channel (and here) so be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss any future videos showing what we find as we explore this abandoned homestead!

Have a great day!
