What is Lemon Water?

Lemon water, like Cucumber Water, reminds me of travel and hotels. It’s not uncommon to find a big jug of lemon water sitting by the front desk for thirsty travelers after a long drive, and our kids would always race for it when arriving at a new hotel. Lemon water is a great way to up your water intake by adding a bit of natural flavor without a pile of sugar, so it’s definitely something to keep in your repertoire.

How to Prepare Lemon Water

The easiest way to prepare lemon water is to slice. First, wash a lemon (you’ll be dropping lemon slices into your pitcher or glass, so I recommend making sure the rind is clean first). Then, slice the lemon into 6-8 slices and set aside. Next, cut a second lemon in half and juice it using a handy juicer. Make sure you remove any seeds that make it into the lemon juice.

Now fill up a pitcher of water about 3/4 of the way full and drop your 6-8 lemon slices into it. Pour the juice from the half lemon you juiced into the water as well. Give it a light stir.

Then top the pitcher with ice, stir it, and serve.

How Long Does Lemon Water Last

I wouldn’t push the lemon water past probably 3-4 days in the refrigerator. The longer you leave it in the fridge, the more lemon will be infused into the water, and after about three days or so, it simply won’t taste as good. Ideally, since it’s pretty easy to make, I’d recommend just making it in the morning and making it your goal to finish it before the end of the evening. This is a great way to boost your water intake, which, I’ll admit, is something I for sure need to do, and it guarantees you a nice refreshing drink throughout the day.

I hope you enjoy it!
