When my very popular Chicken Tikka Masala Crock pot Pasta recipe came out, I noticed that a lot of people had an aversion to eating Indian sauces on pasta. I saw a LOT of comments on the Patak’s Facebook page about how these sauces belong on rice and rice only.
People, you have no idea what you are missing out on. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some basmati rice for dinner, but as soon as I discovered that the Patak’s sauces are amazing on pasta, there’s been no holding me back.
This time around I wanted to see how korma would go with whole wheat noodles. The Patak’s korma sauce is one of my favorites, mild and flavorful…and I was hoping that I could convince my daughter to have a bite. The only Indian dish she will eat is butter chicken and it has to be mild. I was hoping that the Korma was close enough that I could actually get a few bites of chicken in her at suppertime.
The challenge this time around for my Patak’s post was to mix in a little India for our movie night at home. We are most certainly a movie-loving family, we don’t actually watch TV anymore, we live on Netflix and movie rentals, which suffice for the small amount of TV that we watch.
Movie night food for us needs to be fast and easy if it’s during the week. Movies during the week are such a wintertime activity for us. It’s dark early, it’s freezing cold outside and sometimes all we want to do is get the kids from school, eat dinner, and cuddle up as a family watching a movie for the rest of the evening.
This dish is fast, easy, and healthy. The kids loved it and we went on to watch a David Attenborough special (our usual movie choice) with plenty of time to get the kids in bed for school the next day. And best of all? My daughter actually ate three pieces of chicken! (this is a major win in our house!)
So…are you adventurous enough to try this over pasta? Let me know in the comments below!
Love,
Karlynn

I LOVE Pataks. And I agree that Indian sauces go well with pastas.
