If you are looking for a drink with a bit of a bite, then you definitely need to try an Appletini. This delicious cocktail is a blend of the popular Sour Puss along with Vodka, Lime juice and Lime Cordial. While there are a large number of variations on this drink, this is the one that I think best fits the name.
How to Make an Appletini
An Appletini (otherwise known as an Apple Martini) is an easy drink to make. You will need a Boston Shaker, a bottle of Vodka, a bottle of Sour Puss (green apple flavor), some Rose’s Lime Cordial and some lime juice (fresh or otherwise).
Combine these ingredients in your shaker with some ice and shake until cold. Then, using a cocktail strainer, strain it into your martini glass. Garnish with a slice of apple (or lime if you prefer) and serve!
Variations
Here are some of the more common variations of the drink.
- 1.5 oz Vodka, 1/2 oz Apple Schnapps / Calvados, 1/2 oz Cointreau
- 1.25 ounces vodka, 1 ounce Calvados, 1.25 ounces Granny Smith apple juice, .25 ounces lemon juice, .25 ounces simple syrup.
Toning down the sour
This cocktail tends to pack a bit of a punch in the sour department so if you discover that it’s simply too much for your taste buds, it’s perfectly fine to add additional lime cordial and reduce the lime juice even further (although it was our goal to find the right balance for you the first time).
You can also try any of the variations listed above, specifically the first one which uses apple schnapps and Calvados as it tends to have much less bite than this variation we are recommending here. I personally find that most people tend to enjoy Sour Puss, however, so opted to use it in this recipe instead.
