Peach crumble is peaches baked in a sweet sugar sauce, topped with a decadent buttery cookie-like topping. Close to a crisp, but there is no oatmeal, making the topping soft and buttery!
Preheat your oven to 375° and grease a large deep dish pie plate and set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the peaches, sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and salted butter. Scoop out into the prepared pie plate, smoothing it into an even layer of peaches.
In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour and cinnamon. Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs, like sand.
Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the peaches.
Bake in the preheated oven for 35-35 minutes until the topping is golden brown and peaches are bubbling.
Remove and let sit for a few minutes, then scoop into bowls to serve warm. Top with vanilla ice cream with a small dusting of nutmeg for the perfect dessert!
Notes
If using unsalted butter, add in a 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the topping mixture, and a pinch to the filling.
I prefer the skins on the peaches, you can always remove them if wanted
