Gather Ingredients

You will need: top round steak, flour, salt & pepper, butter, green pepper, celery, onions, diced tomato, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, white sugar.

Dredge the steak

Dredge the steak(s) in flour and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Steak Coated in Flour

Brown in butter

Melt the butter in the bottom of a Dutch oven or braising pan and brown the steak slowly on both sides.

Combine vegetables

Combine the green pepper, celery, onions, tomatoes, garlic, Worcestershire Sauce and white sugar in a bowl, stir and add to the meat.

Add steak 

Add the steak to the vegetable mix in the dutch oven.

Cover & Cook

Cover and cook in the oven until the steak is tender and falling apart, stirring occasionally. Then remove.

Serve with mashed potatoes

Serve over mashed potatoes or noodles with lots of the sauce!
