With all the hoopla of the new house being built, selling this house and life being it’s generally crazy self, I forgot to give away these books that have been hanging around the house.

DK Publishing is extremely generous to me and loves to send me books to review and of course, I in turn love to choose not only children’s books for my two kids to enjoy but gardening books for myself.

These were all reviewed on The Super Mom over the last year and now I would like to give them away to some lucky winner.

What’s the flower got to do with it?

Not much. I took a picture of this little red beauty and have no idea what it is. I scattered a wildflower seed package back along the fence and am continuously surprised and delighted at what shows up.

So in order to enter the contest to win the lovely books below, take a guess at what it is. You don’t have to be correct, but try to take a knowledgeable stab in the dark at identifying it.

The books below are a perfect pack gabbed from my bookshelf of goodies. You learn the how-to’s  in Planting a Small Garden, and then you can learn how to harvest and preserve the fruits of that labor in Backyard Harvest. Backyard Harvest is an amazing book,  month by month it shows you what is ready to be harvested and what you can do with each vegetable or fruit.

Grow It Cook It is a lovely book for kids and adults to share together, you can read up on how to grow simple foods then there are recipes included to help you and your child to cook it up.

Low Maintenance Garden is for landscaping rather than growing produce, but the soul needs beauty too! This is a great book for small projects and those interested in landscaping themselves with flowers, grasses, rocks and more, but aren’t into the upkeep for the long haul.

Retailing for over $60 for the set, I hope that someone wins and enjoys them! The giveaway closes June 24th.

Happy Gardening!

four copies of planting books from DK Publishing

How do you win? Same rules as last time.

Your main entry: I really wanted to get some house cleaning out of this deal, perhaps offers of help moving, packing, heck I would take anything at this point. But I guess I can’t really, so everyone gets one entry just because you are here and reading.

Would you like extra entries?

Who wouldn’t? Each item you do from the list below will get you ONE chance to win (for a total of 3 chances) and if you already do both, then all the easier for you to enter, they already count. So make sure to comment for each item!

You have to leave each entry as a separate comment or only one comment will count!

1. Follow and then tweet the following statement then come back to this post and tell us you tweeted.

I would say a type of Dianthus.  Liked you on Facebook and have to tell you that your buttercream icing recipe is amazing.  Just made it yesturday for my daughter’s 7th birthday party.

I don’t want to win the books. I want to win “the happy garden give-away” and come over to your house and ravage your garden – I will take plants and offer them a home – and then NEXT year, when you need them back, I should have some to return to you. Meaning, they can be halved and you will get them back. Do you have any perennials? Of course you do!

I don’t do Twitter or Facebook but I’ll take a stab at the flower…is it a sort of delphinium? The individual flowers look like my delphinium but I’ve never seen them in clusters like that. Cute!
