Indeed, if you missed the latest and greatest news – and you just might have in the joyous haze that surrounded the opening of Williams-Sonoma in West Edmonton Mall- there is also a Pottery Barn opening as well! In fact, it’s right almost smack dab across from the new Williams-Sonoma, making shopping at the two amazing stores easier than pie!

I have long loved Pottery Barn, mainly because they almost always are the purveyors of everything sea and ocean themed that isn’t tacky. As everyone knows, since we moved into the new house last fall,  (click the link to see the house right before we moved in) I have very slowly been working on finding decor that I love.

I still don’t have a table for the front entry, my shelving in my reading room isn’t up and I have maybe a handful of beachy things, since they tend to be too tacky for my liking. I still have pictures to be hung. Oy.

I shouldn’t have posted that link, I went and looked at the house and just about cried seeing how clean it was. My kitchen has never, ever been that shiny and clean since. Sniffle.

I digress.

I love decor items as much as I covet the Le Creuset in Aubergine at the Williams-Sonoma store. The lovely ladies who had me to the Williams-Sonoma media preview noticed that I have a love affair with home decor items as well, thus the large home and garden section on my site as well.

So tonight, I’mma checking out the new Pottery Barn store and I will be posting a sneak peek for everyone as well!

So, if you want to catch some peeks right away, follow me on Instagram  (I’m @kitchenmagpie) or on Twitter @thekitchenmagpie and you’ll be seeing the pictures I am posting tonight.

I’m armed and dangerous with a camera for tonight!

The official press release :

POTTERY BARN TO OPEN FIRST EDMONTON STORE
Renowned Home Furnishings Retailer Moves into West Edmonton Mall in October
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (September 2012) – Pottery Barn, a premier specialty retailer of high-quality
products for the home, will open its first store in Edmonton at West Edmonton Mall on Saturday, October
6, 2012. Grand opening weekend activities include a gift with purchase* and a complimentary
Entertaining with Style class on Sunday at 10:00 am.

“Our Edmonton store marks our sixth Pottery Barn location in Canada,” said Patrick J. Connolly, Executive
Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer, Williams-Sonoma, Inc. “The success of our stores from Toronto
to Vancouver and our Calgary store has shown us that there is a demand for the inspirational style of
decorating and entertaining that Pottery Barn provides.”

Established in 1949 and acquired by Williams-Sonoma, Inc. in 1986, Pottery Barn was built on the idea
that furniture should be exceptional in comfort, quality, style and value. Since that time, Pottery Barn has
become one of the best known multi-channel retailers of home furnishings in North America.

The 15,000 square foot Edmonton store will reflect this ethos and will be organized according to lifestyle
displays, designed to inspire customers and make shopping easy and enjoyable. There will be destinations
within the store dedicated to living rooms, outdoor spaces, dining rooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms, as
well as feature walls that will display lighting, rugs, and window treatments. Focused displays on bedding,
dinnerware, frames, and candles will also be featured. At the centre of the store will be the Design Studio,
a destination for customers to sit and discuss their furniture needs and plan their space with specially
trained associates, a complimentary service that is also offered in the customer’s home. The Design Studio
houses fabric, wood, and leather swatches so customers can see all the choices available to them.

A comprehensive wedding and gift registry will also be available for customers who wish to register for
special events including birthdays, anniversaries and weddings. Customers seeking decorating advice and
endless entertaining ideas can find them at the Design Studio on potterybarn.com.
Online shopping is available to Canadians at www.potterybarn.com. In Canada, all costs are inclusive of
duty and shipping rates are comparable to those in the United States.

Follow Pottery Barn on Twitter: @potterybarn; Facebook: facebook.com/potterybarn.

*Gift with purchase is available from Saturday, October 6 to Sunday, October 7, while supplies last.

Happy shopping everyone!
