The road to hell is paved with good intentions and the road to pieday veered in a different direction today. I have done…tadaa!! 37 pies so far! I think I am going to slack and do a recap. Oh, don’t worry, the pie post that has the alcohol in it is still coming your way.

I’m taking this PieDay off.

I’m not writing it.

I’m going Geochaching for the whole evening in this crisp beautiful fall weather with my family instead of writing.

So today, you’ll get my top 5 favorite pies.

My absolute, #1 favorite:

The peanut butter ice cream pie. Full of every awesome peanut butter product out there. Absolutely TO DIE FOR and you must make this now.  Just do it and thank me.

My #2 – Flapper Pie. Finding and baking up (3 times in one week!)  this lost prairie classic pie was a labor of love and joy. Plus it has the added bonus of being one heckuva tasty treat! I was happy to be able to bring it to everyone’s attention again so it’s not forgotten just yet.

My #3: Fried Mini Apple Pies. God bless Texas and Jeanne for passing on her love of fried pies to me. These are the most amazing things outside of an A&W. So crispy, appley and dusted with cinnamon sugar. Juts ask Argenplath, she’s addicted. 😉

My #4- Mini Chicken Pot Pies. Yes, I have a savory one in here. Topped with my Best Biscuits Ever, this is a killer comfort food.

My #5 – Andes Frozen Mousse Mint Pie. This is killer. Just killer. Everything mint and chocolate should and can be, wrapped up in a pie.

There you go. My slacker post. I am totally out of here peeps, we’re eating supper out in the amazing Edmonton River Valley and finding us some geocaches!

@KitchenMagpie my mom text me today and said “I’ve made 24 pies! That’s enough for 1 pie a month for 2 years!”

@brittbrew Ooh ,what kind? My grandma baked like that, all or nothing! None of this one at a time!

@KitchenMagpie she’s been making apple pies! I’ve never seen so many apples that’s for sure.

@KitchenMagpie I think she has plans to make apple crisp as well. All I know is I want pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving!

@brittbrew Once my apple tree gets going next year, I’m going to can apple pie filling! Top of my list. Premade, then all you need is crust!

@KitchenMagpie sounds like a pretty genius plan to me!
