The Kamikaze Cocktail Shot was created with the intention of drinking quickly before a party. It was originally created in the 70’s during the disco era and has persisted to this day.

What is in a Kamikaze Cocktail Shot?

These shots are very easy to make and require three simple ingredients; Vodka, Triple Sec and Lime Juice. I recommend using freshly squeezed lime juice in order to get the best flavor but the bottled stuff is fine if that’s all you have.

How to Make a Kamikaze Cocktail Shot

To make the shot, combine the three ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. You’ll need two shot glasses for this recipe so make sure you have them standing by. Shake the ingredients with ice and pour into the two shot glasses. Hand one to a friend, drink and enjoy!

Can I Make This Into A Kamikaze Cocktail?

Absolutely, I’ve gone ahead and scaled up the ingredients so that the quantities are enough for a cocktail. Here they are:

  • 2 ounces Vodka
  • 1 ounce Triple Sec
  • 1 ounce Lime Juice

Follow the same process but pour into martini glasses, coupes or similar cocktail glasses and enjoy!

Hi Mike. I used to drink a tasty shot called the lemon drop. But when i search a recipe its made of just vodka, lemon juice and sugar. Seems like should be more to it. This shot literally tasted just like the lemon drop candy we grew up with. See what you can come up with. Looking forward to your response. Cheers!

  2. Jane says

Thanks for the memory. Soon as I saw the glasses I remembered that my parents had those glasses. Once in a while bedtime milk was served in them. We thought we were given a huge treat, mostly we were not to touch them
