Beef and bourbon are a match made in heaven in this Honey n’ Brown Sugar Bourbon Beef! I mentioned that I had the bourbon bottle out one Sunday morning, to cook with, of course. Sure, it’s entirely possible that I was drinking Old Fashioned’s before noon. It might have happened before, and I am sure it will happen again.

This is a delicious, easy, fix-it-and-forget-it crock pot meal. You would think that my crock pot gets put away in the summertime but oh no, it stays out on my counter or front and center in my pantry. I use my crock pot year round and while roast beef seems so wintery, so very out of season right now, it’s still a favorite for us.

I’ve also wanted to do a bourbon beef for a while and this turned out SO delicious! The sauce is sweet with a hint of bourbon and the flavor just seeps in all day while it’s cooking, what a joy it is to come home to this! Pour yourself a bourbon on the rocks to match it (who needs wine) and you’re set!

Ingredients
 

  • ½ cup bourbon
  • ¼ cup melted honey
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 3-4 pounds blade or chuck roast

Instructions
 

  • Place the roast in the bottom of your crock pot.
  • Combine all of the ingredients and pour over the roast.
  • Cook on low 8-9 hours or high 6-7 hours until the roast pulls apart easily and the fat has mostly dissolved.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

    Can you make this recipe substituting Coca-cola instead of water? OR Have you ever combined your two recipes…Coca-Cola Roast & Honey Brown Sugar Burbon Beef??

    Looking for something different for my chuck I made this today based on the reviews. The only deviations – I seared the 4.25 lb chuck all over before putting it into the cooker and I reduced the jus by 50% to increase flavor. I cooked it in a 5.5 qt. crockpot on low for 8.5 hr. It was pullable when done but the meat was extremely dry and almost flavorless with a sweet aftertaste.
    I think maybe sweet doesn’t really go with beef. Anyway, it’s not the first time I’ve been misled by a collection of stars and I doubt it will be the last, but it’s all we have to go on. I bought this chuck to make Pepper Stout Beef and that’s what I should have done.
    Sorry, Karlynn, this recipe just didn’t work for us.

    I cooked a 3 pound roast in a slow cooker on low for 6 hours. The taste of the roast was good, but the meat was dry. I like the recipe and will give it another try.. I will cook the roast for 5 hours the next time I make it.4 stars

    I made this last night and it was sooo good!! I used a sirloin roast so it didn’t pull apart but the sauce made for a perfect au jus. Will definitely make this again.5 stars

    This was amazing. I left out the soy and worstershire sauce and used a brown sugar bourbon that is from a local distillery here in Portland Oregon. I added the brown sugar and melted honey and poured it over the meat, which was with baby carrots and yukon gold potatoes in the crock pot. A few hours later, I made a small batch of the sauce and poured it over the meat again and put a few crumbles of brown sugar on top of the meat and let it cook for another 5 hours. This tastes sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. I will be making this again for sure!!5 stars
