Fruit Dip

It is really amazing how much cream cheese can single handily improve the flavor of whatever you put it with.

Whether it’s using it as the main ingredient in a pie or just slathering it on any type of bagel, cream cheese is a little bit magical.

That’s what this simple recipe for fruit dip only uses three things: cream cheese packed brown sugar and a bit of vanilla extract for added flavor.

You honestly don’t really need anything else.

Fruit Dip Ingredients

Make sure you look at the recipe card at the very bottom for the exact amounts, as there are a few fiddly ingredients here.

• Container of softened cream cheese

• Packed brown sugar

• Vanilla extract

How To Make Fruit Dip

• Beat all of the ingredients together in a bowl until smooth and creamy

• Taste, and then add more brown sugar until it is as sweet as you like it

• Serve with fruit and crackers

What you Should Serve With Your Fruit Dip

Obviously, this fruit dip goes really well with fruit, but what fruit?

This is a very simple recipe and thus works really well with a variety of different fruits, each of which will enjoy the cream cheese differently.

A great classic is apples, but you actually don’t want to go for the most conventionally enjoyed eating apples if you pair it with your fruit dip. Most eating apples are really, really sweet, which might end up being too sweet when combined with your dip.

Instead, go for the lesser enjoyed, slightly more tangy apples, like Granny Smith or even Braeburn.

You could go more exotic with some kiwi fruits that have been peeled and sliced. Or, stick to a comforting favorite and use some red grapes to help color contrast with all of that green fruit!

If there’s a fruit you like, it will probably work with this fruit dip.

How To Change Up The Tastes Of Your Fruit Dip

This recipe uses brown sugar and vanilla extract to provide a simple, clean sweetness that works well as a fantastic base for other flavors.

If you wanted something a bit more comforting, you could add in some cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and ginger and make a pie spice fruit dip.

Or, if you are looking for something more acidic, add in some lemon juice alongside a bit more sugar to get a lemon fruit dip instead.

Whatever you choose to do with it, make sure that you are pairing the specific flavors of your fruit dip to the flavors of your fruit.

Fruit dip looks great. Another great fruit dip is to use one small container of any fruity yogurt and a half of a tub of Cool Whip mixed together. Could be regular or non fat. I had a B&B and when I served this everyone asked how it was made. Tasty and fluffy!
