Karlynn’s Recipe Notes
- Skill Level: This recipe is easy to make; perfect for a prep-ahead midweek meal!
- Total Time: Marinate your chicken for 8 hours or overnight for the best flavour, and bake for 40-60 minutes for fall-apart tenderness!
- Variations: This recipe calls for chicken breasts because they cook quickly and absorb marinades easily, but you can switch it up and use chicken thighs or drumsticks if you’re not a fan of chicken breast!
- Tools For This Recipe: You’ll need a 9×13 baking dish and a can opener (for the cranberry sauce) for this recipe.

What You’ll Need for Ingredients
Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce: Using whole berry cranberry sauce instead of the jellied kind adds a little extra texture to the marinade that translates into a better mouthfeel for the final sauce!
Catalina Salad Dressing: Catalina dressing uses vinegar, oil, and tomato paste—it’s a fantastic and convenient way to add a ton of flavour with very little effort!
Onion Soup Mix: You can either use a packet from your local grocery store, or if you want more control over the amount of sodium you and your family are making, you can check out my Onion Soup Mix recipe!

Making this tomorrow – very excited for it! However when I plug in the calories into Lose It, I get 482 calories with 40g protein, 54g carbs and 10g fat. How did your calories end up at 312? I used Kraft Catalina dressing, and ocean spray whole berry cranberry sauce, and skinless chicken breasts.

Mr. Kitchen Magpie says
You could certainly give it a whirl and it should work although we haven’t tried this yet.

Just found this and have seen the recipe many times and I even recently bought the ingredients and they are still in plain view on my counter. So you have given me the push that I needed to finally make that. I’ve been dying for it for so long Great job on the website and it is much easier to go straight to the recipe. You really are my favorite online chef. i found you a number of months ago and I have absolutely binged you on here to make sure I haven’t missed anything. Hi Karlynn, This sounds just super. I love cranberries. However, I notice that 6 hours ago you said the recipe was Fixed. I am on it now, March 13 at 6PM and it hasn’t changed. should I try again tomorrow? I really want to make this. I am not the LYNDA that posted 8 hours ago. Different Lynda, just spelled the same way which I don’t usually find.

Just looking at this recipe and I am confused about the ingredients. The ingredients discussed in the top part of the recipe do not match the ones in the recipe itself.
