I am extremely excited to announce that I have been asked to be a cake judge for the 2014 Edmonton Public Library Books2Eat Gala this coming Saturday, March 8th!

The gala is a yearly fundraiser for EPL and the funds go towards their centennial initiatives. Their fundraising campaign focuses on “on accessibility and ensuring all Edmontonians have easy access to essential library services throughout our growing city” To read more about this click here.

My part of the gala will be judging the entries from  talented cake artists that will create what are literally edible works of art. This year EPL has challenged the cake artists to prepare creations inspired by tales of the future, galaxies unseen and ideas uncovered to go along with their theme of ” Just Getting Started.”

This year, the contenders are:

I found an example of a cake from last year. Oh my word, how am I going to come up with a winner??! I am really excited to see what they do with the theme, as soon as I read it, I knew what I would make! So we will have to see if the cake idea I had is there or not!

The event is completely sold out – hurray!- but you can help by donating items and information can be found at this link: https://www.epl.ca/donate.

I am looking forward to the event, watch my Instagram and Facebook on Saturday, March 8th to catch peeks of all the amazing cakes and auction items at the event!

Love,

Karlynn
