Pinkberry Arrives in Edmonton!

When I was contacted about Pinkberry coming to Edmonton, I was instantly excited to attend the media launch at West Edmonton Mall. I admit it: I’ve read People magazine enough times to see countless stars wandering about eating their hip and fresh Pinkberry frozen yogurt.

What really excited me is that this was a family friendly media launch, perfect to bring my kids to. What goes hand in hand better than kids, endless frozen yogurt and a mad variety of toppings? All I really needed was a babysitter for after to deal with the sugar crash.

Little did we know what when we arrived that there was also going to be a photo booth for everyone to enjoy.

And enjoy my children did, to the point where I had to drag them out to actually get them to try some Pinkberry.

Once I did, there was no stopping these two.

Each was enjoyed to the fullest.

My daughter created the same as I did: chocolate with every single chocolate topping possible. I am not a huge frozen yogurt conniseur  by any means, but the chocolate was crazy tasty. There was no “tang” to it like some I have tried and it was a good lower fat replacement for chocolate ice cream. If you are looking for a low-fat yet tasty alternative to chocolate  ice cream, this would be it.

Without the brownie bites, dark chocolate crisps and cookies we put on top, of course.

You’d swear I was torturing them in this picture and perhaps I was by making them stop eating for a quick picture. You can see my daughter didn’t even make eye contact with me.

They ran around the neighborhood telling every single friend that they could find that they were going to an “ice cream party” that night and they could eat alllll the ice cream they wanted.

The photographer for the event snapped this adorable picture of the kids outside the photo booth.

All in all, even though we aren’t a big frozen yogurt family, we thoroughly enjoyed it.  The chocolate was creamy and rich and my favorite of the night and loaded with chocolate toppings made for a really decadent treat.

The pomegranate was an exceptionally refreshing flavor that I thought didn’t need any toppings at all, I enjoyed it plain as it was. The coconut was the least liked flavor of all and I must admit it really didn’t float my boat compared to the other ones which disappointed me, as I truly love coconut.

My husband loved the strawberry and loaded it up with the dark chocolate crisps to make a tasty creation.

The new store is located at West Edmonton Mall, in Phase Three, right at the entrance to the food court, catching the traffic walking through the mall as well as those searching for a meal in the food court. You can visit the Pinkberry website to check out their toppings and nutritional information.

I can definitely see myself taking out-of-town company to Pinkberry for a visit but that is most likely due to its location in West Edmonton Mall, making it a two-in-one deal for entertaining guests. We will also definitely be stopping in whenever we are at the mall to shop but living far in south Edmonton I can’t see myself making the drive just for the yogurt.

Thanks again to Pinkberry for the lovely evening full of picture booth fun and frozen yogurt galore!

Do you like the hygienic issues that you have with self-serve... i literally watch a young boy pick his nose, pour his yogurt into a cup already filled with yogurt, while getting his existing yogurt on the yogurt machine and then grab the fruit and chocolates with his hands... you pay for quality at pinkberry.

I still find I like Tutti Frutti for their self-serve concept. I like to control the portions of my yogurt and the amount of toppings I put on there! I'll have to see what you think of Tutti Frutti tomorrow ;)
