little girl fixing the lego set

My little Lego set director had to get all the little figurines fixed, the cat decided to mow them down, how dare they be in her way on the buffet!

Today was a piano, how flippin’ adorable is that! My daughter decided the girl Lego figurine was going to rock out.

Today…oh today…I came to terms with the fact that I am the messiest baker around.

mixing icing in a red mixer

That would be icing sugar. On the cabinet knob above the mixer.

It’s genetic, I was born that way, it was the bane of my mother’s existence when I was growing up.

I am one heckuva messy person in the kitchen.

Mike has a love/hate relationship with my cooking. One only has to look at the picture below to see that hate part.

Ingredients just…sorta fly around. And upwards.

I also discovered my Kitchenaid mixer wallops painlessly, three times my whipped shortbread recipe. Three!!

Whipped shortbread is the reason I asked for a Kitchenaid, I have literally burned out mixers on this recipe. You have to whip it for a long time to get that melt in your mouth texture.

I made this….which is so, so so, so so so, so good. Recipe coming soon, any guesses?

green, red and white M&M on top of chocolate icing

And these, the where-have-you-been-all-my-life cookies.

A hint that most likely will give it away to most bakers: they have ground hazelnuts in them.

Cooking, baking, cleaning, baking, cleaning and cleaning. That was day number 7 .

Tomorrow includes chubby baby cheeks and surprise surprise, more baking.
