The Egg Farmers of Canada know exactly how hard we Moms work and with that, they are celebrating everything “Mom” by giving away a lovely basket for one lucky reader of mine today!

This fabulous basket is worth over $50 and includes:

  • A muffin tin
  • a “Get Cracking” apron,
  • Microwave egg cookers, perfect for moms-on-the-go
  • A magnetized grocery list
  • The Farmers’ Favourite recipe booklet
  • A $20 grocery store gift card to buy all the fresh ingredients you need for their delicious Baked Egg cups recipe!
The baked egg cups recipe is a perfect one for lazy Sunday mornings in bed, if you have the ingredients I would *ahem* hand them over to your significant other and hint that they would make a lovely breakfast in bed this coming Mother’s Day! Quick, easy and healthy, it’s a perfect start to your day! There is even a great video to walk them through the recipe preparation, so there’s NO excuses!

Bring the whole family together and treat mom with this quick and delicious Baked Egg Cups recipe. To add to the fun this Mother’s Day, visit the Egg Farmers Facebook page between May 1-15 to find out how to access your coupon to save $1.00 off the purchase of 2 dozen eggs, and check out the how-to video recipe for Baked Egg Cups to help make sure your special brunch is speggtacular!

After all, mother does know best: over 90 percent of Canadians consider food from within their province to meet their standards for freshness, with more than half believing that imported food cannot be fresh.

Some more of the survey’s highlights:

  • 75 percent say food/produce must get from the farm to the grocery store within seven days to be deemed fresh
  • Eighty-two percent of Canadians polled say they are confident the eggs they buy are fresh. This was the highest scoring category in the question that also asked about poultry, beef, vegetables and fruits
  • Results for people preferring food produced within their province are identical regardless of education and income levels.

Through the system of supply management, the Egg Farmers of Canada share and support the values championed by Canadian moms by providing fresh eggs that meet their high standards of quality, are local, and fresh all year long.
