Chili Cook Off logo with red chili and a cowboy

Alright, alright, catchy titles may not be my strong suit. However, I have the honor of attending the 20th Annual Chili Cook Off this Friday.

As a judge!

What better way to spend a morning then tasting all sorts of -I am sure they will be- amazing chilis! All in the name of charity too, how could I refuse?

Mmmm. Twenty kinds of chili for me to taste and you too! Come on down to what is going to be a really fun fundraiser for an excellent cause!

The details straight from the Edmonton Downtown Association’s website:

Friday, November 5, 2010

11:30 am – 1:30 pm

Scotia Place, Main Level

10060 Jasper Avenue

Chili is $2.00 per bowl

Rally your friends and coworkers and come on down to Scotia Place to try a variety of tongue-scorching chili recipes.

The competition is fierce this year with 20 businesses, restaurants and non-profit groups going head to head with the hopes of winning the coveted title of “Ultimate Chili”.

Chili isn’t the only dish on the menu! The Cook Off stage will be rockin’ with live music and tons of chances for chili tasters to win awesome prizes.

Chili will be sold for $2 per bowl with all proceeds supporting the Downtown Business Association’s chosen charity, the Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters. In 2009, the Cook Off raised more than $6,000 for ACWS, which supports over 40 women’s shelters throughout the province.

Stop by, eat chili, say hi if you find me, I won’t think you are a stalker, I promise!
